My miniSite

Computing

My attitude to using programming.

I personally cannot think of anything which doesn't improve in usability and performance by incorporating some programming.
Within limits, of course. :)

I am fully versed in:

  • Apache
  • ASP
  • CSS and CSS Behaviours
  • JavaScript
  • Macromedia Flash and Flash ActionScript (aside from my previous protests)
  • Microsoft Access
  • Microsoft Visual Basic .net
  • Microsoft Visual C++ .net
  • MS-SQL
  • Perl
  • Python
  • SVG
  • Wireless Networking
  • XML and xHTML
  • *nix shell scripts

It's pretty safe to say that if you've got a problem with a computer, I'm an useful kind of person to know. ;)

Do you need hand-coded scripts?

Please contact me if you need some coding in the above languages and you feel I can help.

If what you need isn't listed in the above languages, contact me anyway: It's likely that I can help, as many languages have common cores and are often similar.

Cool things with web servers.

A list of things I've done with web servers that you might think useful in a site.

  • Building PDF files from scratch
  • Piggy-backing the Google search
  • Hypertext Preprocessor Language

There are loads of instances of PHP riddled through my Minisite. From actively choosing which theme you want to apply to the page, to inserting the date at the footer of the page. You might not have even noticed any delays from the web-server processing the active bits of the site.

This is probably why I prefer Apache and PHP to any other script.

And more...

I'm very experienced in using many different types of hardware, setups, networking, printing, imaging - just contact me if you need to build a new PC or a series of networked machines. I'd be happy to help =).
